How are transactional metrics calculated in the Sales Summary by Product report?

Sales and quantity accounting logic

The summary report by product presents two main transactional metrics whose accounting reference is the product reference:
  • Sales : number of distinct product lines (unique references) in orders.
  • Quantities sold : total units sold, all references combined.

Example :

An order contains 3 items:
  • 2 units of product A (same reference)
  • 1 unit of product B (different reference)
Sales = 2 (2 separate references)Quantity sold = 3 (3 units in total)

Warning Special cases

Opt-out sales (in “exempted data collection” configuration)
  • Not counted → They are excluded from both the Sales and Quantity Sold columns
Sales without associated product
  • Not counted → They are also excluded from the two columns ( Sales and Quantities sold )
